Enrolment Information for preps for 2027

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Please note, Topirum PS currently has a restricted enrolment plan as set by the Victorian Department of Education.

Approved entry criteria are:
• Students who live within the school zone (guaranteed entry)
•Students with a sibling attending the school at the same time (priority 1 of the priority order of placement)
•Students seeking enrolment on compassionate grounds.
Students seeking placement in all year levels must meet one of the above criteria to be eligible for enrolment.

Prep (Foundation) enrolments for 2027 

The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Topirum Primary School.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Prep for 2027 at Topirum Primary School from Monday 20th April, 2026 

 

Contact our school reception to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.

 

School Tour dates:

Wednesday 29th April, 2026-  2.30pm to 3.15pm 

 

Tuesday 5th May, 2026- 9.00am to 9.45am

 

Thursday 14th May, 2026- 2.30pm to 315pm 

 

Wednesday 27th May, 2026- 9.00am to 9.45am

 

Tuesday 9th June, 2026- 2.00pm to 2.45pm 

 

A school tour is highly recommended if you intend to apply for enrolment. Book your place with our reception

officers on the school phone number 5929 2999. The tour is conducted by the principal, Marc de Ley, or a member of the school leadership team. All tours will start from the school library and will last approximately 30 minutes, with an opportunity to ask questions.  

 

KEY STEPS

  1. Obtain the FORM TO ENROL IN A VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOOL- FOR TOPIRUM PRIMARY SCHOOL from the school reception. Available after the school tours and information session (dates above). Otherwise can be picked up during normal school hours.
  2. Submit this completed enrolment form (preferrably in person hard copy) by Friday 31st July, 2026 , to the school reception. 
  3. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 14th August,2026. 
  4. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
  5. Prepare your child to start Prep - first day of school for preps is Friday 29th January, 2027.

Future dates for enrolled students

 

Students enrolled for prep 2027, will be invited to participate in a transition session on the following dates:

An Information Session for parents of students enrolled for prep 2027, will be held on Thursday 26th November, 2026, 6.30pm to 7.30pm. This session will provide details for the preparation of your child for school. It will be run by the school principal, leadership team and prep teaching team. 

 

Prep 2027 Orientation Morning Session, on Tuesday 8th December, 2026. This will run from 9.00am to 10.00am. Your child will meet their class teacher for 2027 and be in their designated classroom for the session. They will get a showbag.

Preps start school on Friday 29th January, 2027.

 

The following dates are no school for preps:
